Butterfly Center

As I've said before, we're beginning to take advantage of all the amazing things Houston has to offer. I'm so glad we live just 30 minutes away from so many fun things to do! On Monday, I went with two ladies from our bible study group to the Butterfly Center at the Natural Science Museum. Che and Lindsey each have a toddler and it was so great to watch them have fun!

When we first walked into the exhibit, there was a long hall with typical museum displays (but bright, colorful and kid-friendly). The toddlers ran from one display to another pushing buttons, flipping cards, and having fun. Caleb was interested in the bright colors on the signs! After walking through the hall, there was a doorway to an indoor rainforest area where all the butterflies were. Of course, they moved too quickly for Caleb to really see the them, but he still enjoyed the leaves and waterfall. There were hundreds of butterflies flying around us, so neat!

We spent the morning at the museum and then walked across the street to a flower garden where we had a picnic lunch. It was so nice to spend time with my friends and watch the toddlers run around and play.

When we walked into the exhibit, we first saw this caterpillar. Peyton was the first to sit on it and we decided it would be a good photo op. She and Gavin were so good with Caleb sitting near them!
