"Aggies!"

Caleb may not have an extensive verbal vocabulary at this time, but we are constantly working on the critical words...

...next is "WHOOP!"

Jonathan's Birthday Weekend

Happy (almost) Birthday to my wonderful husband!

Jonathan knew he wanted a grill for his birthday, so I let him research and pick out exactly what he wanted. He picked it up yesterday on his way home from work and put it together in the living room. He figured out exactly where he wants to use it on the patio and the best place to store it as well. Doesn't it look awesome on our beautiful deck!

Jonathan made lunch for us earlier today outside. We had yummy hotdogs! Caleb did great not touching the grill and not staying under Jonathan's feet. I was inside with Aaron during that time, and we weren't sure how Caleb would do. He's such a good boy!

We enjoyed our first grilled lunch! Jonathan is already planning hamburgers for his birthday dinner tomorrow. I'm sure those will turn out great too!

Caleb and I went out this morning to pick up some Mrs. Gatti's cupcakes. We got four different flavors. Jonathan and I enjoyed the Fuji Caramel Apple after Caleb went down for his nap and we've got three more to last the rest of the weekend. I'll make cupcakes for Jonathan and Caleb's join birthday dinner next weekend, but didn't want Jonathan to go without anything on his actual birthday.

Jonathan, I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We love you so much! Happy Birthday!

Randomness from the Week

We're keeping busy, as usual, around here. I'm so glad we're beginning to see a change in the weather. Texas is still seeing highs in the low to mid 90s but, after a summer of record breaking heat, the 90s feel wonderful!

Other news from the Lutz household... Aaron is already outgrowing his 0-3 month clothes! I pulled down the next size and washed them a few days ago. Those outfits are a little big, but that's better than the other clothes that are getting too snug. He's really getting bigger and changing quickly. OH...and the biggest news of all... 5 of the past 6 nights he SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! I can't believe I almost forgot to mention that! He's been sleeping from 9:30 until between 6 and 7 in the morning. Oh, what a wonderful feeling to wake up in the morning and realize it's not 4am!

We're also beginning to hear a few more words from Caleb. Here lately we've started to hear "apple", "choo choo", "kitty", "bubble", and "chip". We're hoping this means he's getting ready to start talking and letting us know what he wants. Only time will tell, I guess!

If you haven't noticed...I'm trying to do a post each weekend with all of our random moments from the week. Hence the title, Randomness from the Week. I really don't know how else to refer to the various pictures I'm posting! With that being said...enjoy!

Aaron fell asleep while playing on his mat. I hope that hand tasted good : )
Jonathan asked Caleb to help him bring in a box of diapers. He brought it in and used it as a seat at the back door.
When I asked him to bring it to the playroom, Orion had to help too.
My big helper.
Having fun outside now that the weather is slightly cooler.

I helped Aaron hold onto the loop and he held onto it for a while. He was very focused.
Shake, shake!
(At the end, I comment about Aaron's ending...playing the video back, I noticed you can't hear his lovely little toot, but that's what I was referring to)
Looking up during tummy time.
Watching Mommy.
Playing with duplos. I wonder if he was sorting them by color or if that was a coincidence?
Helping Mommy in the kitchen. Look at those long legs!
Handsome boy!

Aaron's first attempt at a bottle...can we say FAIL! Pretty much everything fell apart after this peaceful looking moment....sigh.
PS - If anything in this post doesn't make sense it's because I'm attempting to watch the Aggie game against Oklahoma State while writing...it's kind of hard to focus! I think it's only appropriate to end with, Go Aggies! WHOOP!!!

A Few Videos

I keep intending to post a few videos, but as soon as I get the chance to sit down at night I'm ready to pass out! I'm forcing my eyes open for a few extra minutes tonight to share the cuteness! Hope everyone enjoys : )

Randomness from the Week

We've been keeping busy here at the Lutz household this week, but there's nothing really big to report on. So here are some pictures to enjoy for now!

It looked like Aaron was holding his nose in his sleep...what does that mean about our home???
A few minutes later he started trying to fly : )
Jonathan asked Caleb to pick out his pajamas on Wednesday night and this was his choice! We changed him before he actually went to bed, but he was too cute not to take a picture!
Daddy and Aaron taking a nap.
Caleb wanted to hold Aaron, he loves his brother so much!
A good one of the boys side by side!
Eating lunch at the counter for the first time! He's such a big boy!
"Cheeeeessssseeeee!"
Happy boy playing on the floor.
Cutie!
Hanging out in the bouncer seat.
Mommy and Caleb playing a game on the Nook.
Caleb playing the game.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Aaron: 2 Months Old

Our sweet baby boy is 2 months old!

Aaron had his two month check-up on Friday and I am shocked at his statistics. I knew he'd been growing lately...now I know why my arms have been getting so tired!

Height: 22" (37th percentile)

Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (69th percentile...YES, I typed that right...69th percentile, he's our chunky monkey!)

Head Circumference: 15" (39th percentile)

I couldn't believe he's in such a high percentile! (As most of you know..Caleb has been around the .1 percentile most of his life...meaning when you look at the weights of all kids his age across the US he's only bigger than .1% of them) I knew he is bigger than Caleb was at this age, but I had no idea he was in such a high percentile. I'll be having to pull out the 3-6 month clothes soon, isn't that crazy!?!

While we were there, the doctor asked about his development, especially neck control. She was surprised that he already sits in the bumbo, but could see that he holds up his neck well enough. She was also surprised at how well (and how long) he holds up his head while he's on his tummy. He's also doing great on gripping things. She said it probably won't be long until he starts trying to grab toys around him.

Holding onto the burp cloth! It's hard to pry those little fingers off : )
Turning his head to watch brother.
Aaron is still eating every 3 hours during the day. We've been blessed from pretty early on with his night routine. He eats around 9 and goes straight to sleep, he wakes up to eat around 3/4 and again goes back to sleep easily and wakes up between 6 and 7 ready to eat and then be up for a little while. Only having one (occasionally two) night time feedings has been such a blessing. In the past week or two he has started falling asleep on his own most of the time. We bundle him up and put him in the swing during the day or in the bassinet at night and he slowly drifts off. Sometimes we have to walk with him for a minute or so, but he's been such an easy baby to get to sleep! Such a blessing.

Aaron is smiling and cooing often now. He's such a happy boy. We love you sweet baby!

Protecting Mommy

I rounded the corner to the master bedroom and found the zoo keeper guarding the doorway. I think Caleb was trying to protect Mommy : ) I just love the randomness of an almost 2 year old!

Busy Week

2 days of school, 2 doctor's appointments, visiting with family... the week flies by when you're busy!

My chunky monkey hanging out with his momma during breakfast!
It's sad that big brother still fits in the bumbo too!
Drinking pretend water from his pretend kitchen : )
On the phone at school
I wished I could get him on video... he was babbling as if he were on the phone.
Uncle Derrill and Aaron watching each other.
Two tennis players
Uncle Derrill's a good teacher : )

Prayer Request

Friends and Family,

Please be in prayer for Jonathan's Grandma Hart. She was taken to the hospital last night when she had difficulty breathing. We believe she may have had a heart attack. She is in ICU this morning having tests run.

Thanks for your prayers for her and the rest of the family.

- Jonathan & Melissa

UPDATE: (3:00) - Doctors found a blockage and are inserting a stent. Thank you for praying this morning, we appreciate your continued prayers over her health over the next few days.

After School Fun

I emptied a few boxes on Wednesday and gave Caleb a few to play with. He's been having fun stacking them, filling them up & dumping things out, and dragging them around the house. After school today, he  brought one into the living room and did this for around 20 minutes...

All squeezed in.

Ducking his head to hide from Mommy
"Hi!"
A little while later, I let Aaron try out his bumbo for the first time...

At first he wasn't so sure about it.
After a while he warmed up to it.
The end of a smile...my camera wasn't fast enough.

And after the bumbo fun, Daddy got home and spent some time with Caleb. They read a few books together on my Nook and then Caleb watched a few videos on it...

Learning how to turn the page
Watching a cartoon
Cute with his arms folded up!
No wonder Mommy is so tired this evening! We had a full day of school and fun!
