Aaron's Baby Quilt

My mom and GG have been working on Aaron's baby quilt since before he was born and I'm SO excited that its finally finished! They did an amazing job on all the details on his quilt. The three squares with different colored triangles actually open up to reveal a picture underneath. There's a bear, a car and a bus! He loves opening the flaps and then closing them up. The green pinwheels are also three dimensional, he likes pulling on those even though nothing happens! Mom and GG both did the applique work to put together the quilt top and my mom did all the beautiful quilting.

Below are some closer up pictures to show off the quilting work!

Thanks Grandma Debbie and GG for the beautiful baby quilt! It will be cherished forever!

First Day of School 2012

PeeWee School has begun again! I've been having in-service days for a few weeks, but we started real school with kids this week. We were all ready to get back into the swing of things!

Aaron has two of the same teachers this year and one new teacher. Mrs. Karen is pretty much his third grandmother, so he's been well spoiled and is having a great time! Caleb is in the train station this year (with a huge Thomas train!) so he would love his room even if he were the only one in there! He has all new teachers, but is already getting to know them well. He's excited to have several friends from last year in his class again.

And just for fun, I found pictures of the first day of school for the last two years! It's amazing how much our babies have changed!

Dinner at Grandma's

Last weekend we had dinner at Grandma Mal's house. Laura and Drew came to visit since they had some time off for Labor day weekend. We had a great visit and enjoyed catching up with everyone.

We didn't really do anything else over the long weekend, just relaxed and spent some time together as a family!

Finishing my Birthday

Well, I posted about my first birthday dinner a couple weeks ago, I guess it's about time I wrapped up my birthday!

We went to La Brisa the day after my birthday to have dinner with my side of the family. We were lucky enough to get a room off to the side so we could enjoy our meal and the boys weren't stuck in their chairs the whole time.

We started off attempting a family picture...the boys didn't cooperate, but Jonathan and I look nice : ) Eventually we'll get a picture of us all looking at the camera, right?

After our meal, my mom pulled out the cupcakes. I wasn't expecting any birthday extras....haha, I was wrong! Right after the cupcakes, the La Brisa balloon man came in to entertain us and several servers came in to sing happy birthday to me. It wasn't the quiet dinner I was expecting, but we had a good time!

The boys with their helmets and swords from the clown. I had a hat, but we didn't seem to get a picture of it...too bad ; )

I had a fun time celebrating my birthday! Thanks to everyone for helping me begin another year!
