The Nisbet's Going Away Party

Last night we went to the Nisbet's going away party. It was fun to watch the cousins play together and celebrate Sarah and Alex's move to Colorado.

Caleb had fun playing with Lana, especially outside on their deck. That's a project we've been thinking about doing for a while and, after watching him on it last night, we think we might try to tackle that this spring. He had so much fun running around and going up and down it!

We didn't get to stay at the party for very long. For some reason, Caleb decided he didn't want to eat anything while we were there even though it was dinner time, so we had to leave early to get him to eat at home before he went to bed.

I'm hoping to get one more chance to see Sarah and Lana before they leave on Thursday, but we'll just have to see how the week goes. I'm excited for their new adventure and can't wait to visit them!

Jonathan got a cute video of the kids playing together outside. It's a longer video than I usually post. There are a few moments that are a bit slow, but then something else cute would happen. Enjoy watching the cute cousins!

Fun at the Park

Today we had amazing weather! 75 degrees and sunny with a light breeze. It felt like spring! We've been having rainy weather here and are expecting more rain over the weekend, so Caleb and I decided to take advantage of the BEAUTIFUL day and head to League Park.

I called Sarah and Lana to join us and we invited Grandma Mal to watch the kids have fun. I'm glad we had the opportunity to enjoy playing with Lana today, her family is moving to Colorado next week, so we won't have nearly as many opportunities to play together.

The cousins went everywhere this afternoon. I don't know about Sarah and Mal, but this momma was exhausted after chasing Caleb for an hour! He went through tunnels, played on the swing, ran everywhere and found a million sticks and rocks. He's definitely getting faster, but with that seems to come more falls. I think he got two more bruises while we were there, but none of that seemed to phase him.

I didn't have the chance to take out my camera as I was chasing a little boy everywhere, but Grandma Mal got a few.

The tunnel is definitely one of Caleb's favorite spots. He was following Lana through this time!

There's a really neat musical area at the park. This is the post with the speaker. Both kids loved hearing different instruments.

Aunt Sarah and Lana with us at the park!

Thanks Grandma for taking some pictures! We had a great time playing with Lana and will hate sending her off next week. As for today, I'm attempting to stay awake until 9 and then I'll crash! It's hard to keep up with a toddler!

January Videos

Not much has been going on here in the Lutz household lately. At least, nothing worth its own blog post! Caleb and I have been busy with school and things around the house and Jonathan has been busy with work and volunteering with the high school robotics team. Aunt Laura has requested a new blog post, so I dug up a few videos I had been planning on posting some time soon. Hope you enjoy : )

Caleb's 15 month checkup

How is Caleb 15 months old already? It's so fun to watch him at this age....his little personality has taken over and there's no stopping him! Here's some stats from his 15 month checkup.

Weight: 17 lbs 14.5 oz (.13%) (he's gaining steadily, but staying in the lower percentile)

Height: 29 1/4" (5%) (Yes - he suddenly got  a lot taller!)

I knew he had gotten taller, but didn't realize just how much taller. It's crazy to see it on paper. I realize most people will see 5% and still think tiny, but to think he went from nearly 0% to 5% is a big difference for me.

On top of the stats, I'm amazed at how much he has grown since his 1 year appointment developmentally.

- He listens very well and responds quickly to "no", we very rarely have to do time out.

- He crawls up the stairs very fast and has recently figured out how to hold onto the wall or rails and "walk" down...we stand right in front of him so he can't fall far if he does and his tushy usually hits the step as he walks, but, as far as he is concerned, he's walking like Mommy and Daddy.

- He eats almost all of his meals well, occasionally he doesn't want what we offer, but after a few minutes of fussing he will at least try what's on his plate. There have been a few things he really just didn't seem to like, but for the most part he finishes everything on his plate at meals. Given how much he eats, I don't see how he isn't much heavier...guess he takes after his Daddy.

- He loves school/church and gets excited when we get there. I'm pretty sure he doesn't even notice that I'm gone from him on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (Part of that is due to his amazing teachers, Mrs. Autumn and Mrs. Kelly!)

- He "talks" all the time....wish I knew what he was thinking! He also laughs all the time. He giggles at the cats (especially Tiger) and laughs like he has his own inside joke. He just recently learned how to kiss and still isn't always sure how to do it, but it's so sweet when he does!

- During prayer time he is learning to do "prayer hands". He kind of claps them together a few times, but it's obvious he's seeing that Mommy and Daddy keep their hands together and is trying to do the same thing.

He really is a wonderful boy. We have occasional rough moments, usually when I'm trying to finish in the kitchen or haven't had as much time to play with him, but those moments are not the regular.

Sorry for the long post, but as I look over posts I wrote a year ago when he was 3 months, I wish I had written more at each of his checkups. I love looking back at each post and seeing how much he has grown and changed and remembering things he used to do. I love our little man so much and love that I get to be his Mommy!

Fun at Church

On Sunday mornings I have to be at church early, so Jonathan and Caleb come with me and play in the PeeWee lobby until it's time to drop him off. This week Jonathan got some cute pictures of our happy boy playing!

12 weeks & Ultrasound pics

This morning I got to see baby for a second time! My first ultrasound was the week of Christmas and Jonathan joined me to see baby, this time he was unable to join me, but I did get a few good pictures to share!

In both pictures baby's head is on the right, arms are sticking up and you can see it's little legs kicking on the left!

Baby is measuring right at 12 1/2 weeks. The purpose of today's ultrasound was for a specialist to check the nasal structure and part of the back of baby's neck to look for irregularities. Everything measured exactly how it should be! Baby moved around during the whole 10 minutes I was having the ultrasound. It was fun to watch, this one seems to be just as active as Caleb!

Speaking of Caleb, GG came over at 8:30 this morning to watch him during my appointment. When I got home a little after 11 this is what I found!

I don't know how she did it, but GG wore him out! I took Caleb to his crib right after she left and he slept for 2 1/2 hours.

It was such a good feeling to watch baby and know he/she is developing well! I have my guesses as to if we are having a boy or a girl...but we won't find out for another month and a half. Wonder if anyone else has any gut feelings?
