Aaron: 2 Months Old

Our sweet baby boy is 2 months old!

Aaron had his two month check-up on Friday and I am shocked at his statistics. I knew he'd been growing lately...now I know why my arms have been getting so tired!

Height: 22" (37th percentile)

Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz (69th percentile...YES, I typed that right...69th percentile, he's our chunky monkey!)

Head Circumference: 15" (39th percentile)

I couldn't believe he's in such a high percentile! (As most of you know..Caleb has been around the .1 percentile most of his life...meaning when you look at the weights of all kids his age across the US he's only bigger than .1% of them) I knew he is bigger than Caleb was at this age, but I had no idea he was in such a high percentile. I'll be having to pull out the 3-6 month clothes soon, isn't that crazy!?!

While we were there, the doctor asked about his development, especially neck control. She was surprised that he already sits in the bumbo, but could see that he holds up his neck well enough. She was also surprised at how well (and how long) he holds up his head while he's on his tummy. He's also doing great on gripping things. She said it probably won't be long until he starts trying to grab toys around him.

Holding onto the burp cloth! It's hard to pry those little fingers off : )
Turning his head to watch brother.
Aaron is still eating every 3 hours during the day. We've been blessed from pretty early on with his night routine. He eats around 9 and goes straight to sleep, he wakes up to eat around 3/4 and again goes back to sleep easily and wakes up between 6 and 7 ready to eat and then be up for a little while. Only having one (occasionally two) night time feedings has been such a blessing. In the past week or two he has started falling asleep on his own most of the time. We bundle him up and put him in the swing during the day or in the bassinet at night and he slowly drifts off. Sometimes we have to walk with him for a minute or so, but he's been such an easy baby to get to sleep! Such a blessing.

Aaron is smiling and cooing often now. He's such a happy boy. We love you sweet baby!
