Caleb: 2 Years Old!

Well, as I suspected, Caleb's birthday flew by and 4 days later I'm just now getting the chance to blog about it!

We had to wake up the birthday boy on Monday morning so we could get ready and out the door for his 2 year well-child checkup at the doctor. (Yes, I'm the mean Mommy that planned his shots on his actual birthday... it happened to be the day they had available!) Jonathan came with me so that he could help with Aaron while I focused on Caleb. The appointment went well, he's doing everything he's supposed to be doing. We're "monitoring" his speech since he's only recently started saying much and doesn't say many sentences. I'm really not worried, I think he'll start talking when he feels like it. Within the last month we've started hearing a lot more from him anyways.

As far as his stats go he is now:

Height: 34" (49th percentile) He actually went from the 9th to the 49th percentile...crazy! He's average now : )

Weight: 22 lbs 13 oz. (3rd percentile) He went from the .5 to 3rd percentile!

He got two shots at his appointment, but (beyond the initial discomfort) he didn't seem to be bothered by them for the rest of the day. In the past he's slept a lot after shots, but he must be outgrowing that. After his regular nap, we enjoyed the afternoon out on the patio until Daddy came home!

Action shot, he had just hit the ball!
He had a nice follow through that time!
My attempt at him smiling at me...he wasn't very cooperative for pictures on his birthday!
Vroom vroom!
Playing with toys after we came inside.
Jonathan and I are now leading a bible study at our house on Monday nights, so the evening was kind of rushed trying to celebrate Caleb's birthday. We had dinner and sang the birthday song for Caleb again. (we even relit the candles so he could blow them out several times!) Dao stopped by with a present for Caleb and Juliana called from Iowa. Then Aunt Katy came to play with Caleb upstairs until he went to bed while we had bible study.

We hope Caleb had fun celebrating his birthday over the weekend and on Monday! While he's definitely hitting the typical two stage and needing more discipline than we're used to, he's still our sweet, kind, silly little boy! We love you Caleb Joseph!
