Dewberry Farms

This morning Jonathan and I packed up the boys and headed out for some family fun! We spent the morning petting goats, riding a tractor and bouncing on giant puffy pillows as well as some other "farmy" sorts of things. The weather couldn't have been more perfect thanks to the cool front that came through on Thursday. I'm hoping we can get the chance to go a lot more times in years to come. Dewberry Farms isn't really all that close (about an hour and a half drive) but it was so much fun.

I asked my friends on facebook for some general tips from those that had been before. Through that I found out that two friends from church were also going. We planned to meet up for lunch but happened to find each other before, so we all got to watch the kids play together too, perfect!

Riding a tire horse.
One of his first times on a big boy swing, he was nervous but did really well.
Checking out the stairs going up to the goats.
Caleb had fun poking the goats in the nose!
Uhm...little boy on a REALLY BIG tractor!
He's a good driver.
Jonathan and Aaron on the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch.
Caleb and Mommy on the same ride.
Super Daddy!
We tried getting a pose picture, but couldn't get Caleb to look up at us!
It was all too much for Aaron, so he took a nap.
Walking back, you can't tell but there are 3 boys in this picture!
Playing on some crazy bouncy things (Caleb wasn't so sure about them at first)
Caleb and his friend, Samir, sitting on the calmer edge of the bouncy things.
***Warning*** This video is not the least bit glamorous, but Caleb is happy and laughing, which is the important part. And just so you know, he's not suffering from any whiplash!

Aaron, as usual, did great on our outing. He's so laid back, he didn't care what he was doing! We had a fantastic day and definitely plan to go again in the future. I'm looking forward to when both boys can play and explore together. I love that last weekend we went to a science museum in Houston and this weekend we went to a real farm.

Maybe next week we should go to the beach and really take advantage of our area! Haha, regardless, I love exploring new things with our boys! Hooray for a fun family day!

PWS Costume Parade

Instead of trick-or-treating at school each year, we put on a candy parade. Kids get to arrive at school in their costumes and the church staff comes out to pass out candy. I love seeing the kids show off their costumes, they are so cute telling who/what they are and I really like hearing them compliment each other! It's so sweet.

Last year, Caleb refused to wear his complete costume, so no one could tell he was a lion. This year I'm pretty sure everyone could tell! Love this little guy!

First picture in his costume this year. (It was before school and I couldn't get him to give me bear)
My classroom is the "Fire Station", so the fireman took a picture with the fire truck : )
During the parade
His serious face : )
Holding his loaded down halloween bag!
Aaron also got to go through the parade. I didn't bother to get him a costume this year, but his teachers held his bag for him and he got lots of candy anyways! I guess it pays being cute : ) Jonathan and I are enjoying the loot from the boys and occasionally sharing with Caleb. We aren't planning to do a lot of trick-or-treating this year, but we will do a little around our block.

Hope everyone enjoys a safe and fun Halloween!

Busy Friday

Science Museum, new baby and Grandma's birthday all in one day! WOW! We shoved a whole weekend of events into a single day, but it was a great one!

PeeWee School held a family field trip at a museum in Houston on Friday. Jonathan was able to take the day off, so the four of us went up to explore the dinosaur exhibit. (We've been studying dinosaurs in school this month!) Caleb had tons of fun checking out the dinosaurs and then moving on to several other exhibits at the museum. Jonathan, I hope, had fun chasing after Caleb and not loosing him. I had the horribly difficult task of keeping up with Aaron. I may have had the better end of the deal : )

Checking out fossils
Tippy-toes help!
Moving on to the energy hall

Fun!
Studying the zebra
We stayed long enough to have lunch at the museum and then walked around Herman park. We were trying to wear out Caleb so he would take a nap on the way up to Spring. Instead, I think we got him over-tired and he had trouble sleeping in the car...oh well! So from the museum we made our way up to Spring to meet Hannah Joy! She was born early Thursday morning, October 20th.

Thomas and Kristen had just gotten home from the hospital, so we didn't stay long. Just long enough to meet our new little niece.

Aunt Melissa & 1 1/2 day old Hannah Joy (was Aaron ever that tiny!?!)
After a quick visit up in Spring, we hopped back in the car and hi-tailed it back home. We made it back just in time for me to get dinner in the oven. We had a special dinner guest, Grandma Mal! We were celebrating her birthday. We had a yummy dinner and then spent some time catching up. I get to see her most Wednesdays, but Jonathan typically doesn't get to. It was nice to be able to relax and get a few pictures of Grandma with the boys.

On top of all of that, we were also on alert on Friday for TWO new little girls to be born! Jonathan's cousin's wife and Jonathan's sister were both induced Friday morning and they both had beautiful, healthy little girls! Talk about a whirlwind day!

"GG & Papa"

Brothers

As Aaron is starting to respond more and more to his surroundings Caleb is taking more of an interest in him. Just within the past week, we have watched our boys begin to interact more and it is ADORABLE! Caleb woke up from his nap one day this week and I brought Aaron up to get brother out of bed. I sat Aaron on Caleb's bed (holding him up obviously) and the two boys sat across the bed from each other, giggling at each other, for over 5 minutes. It killed me that I couldn't get to the camera, but I'm positive that's one of those moments that I won't forget.

Since then we have caught several of those moments on camera.

Studying each other
Three rotten boys
Having fun
Here's a toy, brother : )

Lovin' the Dimples!

I'm falling more and more in love with this little guy every day! Ugh, he melts my heart : )
UGH! Love him!
Playing with his feet after he woke up from a nap.
Tummy time
Dimples even when he's not smiling!

Babbling and attempting raspberries! He's made a few, but I can't seem to get them on camera.

Aaron is growing and changing so quickly. He's such a happy, calm baby! We love you sweet boy!

Pumpkins!

Last year, I took Caleb to a pumpkin patch, took pictures of him in his costume and let him pick out a few pumpkins to take home. Between having a 3 month old and the heat we're still dealing with, that just hasn't happened this year. In fact, it never even crossed my mind! So, when GG called yesterday morning to ask if she could take Caleb to a nearby pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin we jumped at the chance.

GG and Papa came to pick him up yesterday after his nap and took him five minutes down the road to a church pumpkin patch. They let him pick out a big pumpkin for himself and a small pumpkin for Aaron. When he got home I could tell he had a great time.

Showing Mommy the pumpkin he picked for brother. (Papa had to carry his, it was too heavy!)

Pumpkins make good footrests.
Thanks GG and Papa for taking Caleb to get some pumpkins! We all love you so much!

Aaron: 3 Months Old

Our sweet baby boy is 3 months old already! In the past month he has really started to take on his own little personality and I love getting to interact with him more.

Aaron is such a happy boy. He spends most of his awake time cooing, laughing and smiling. If we talk to him, he likes to talk back. It's like we're having conversations : )

His grip is getting stronger! He likes to hold onto toys or a burp cloth while he plays and lately I've had to pry his little fingers off my shirt when I try to put him down.

He is a pro at rolling from is tummy to his back, only he is so content on his tummy that he doesn't do it often! While on his tummy, he likes pushing up with his arms so he can look around. If he has something to push against, he also likes pushing with his feet and lunging forward! I think he's ready to go chase brother.

He's a great sleeper too. He sleeps from around 9 until 7 or 8 most mornings. Sometimes he wakes up around 5 to eat and then goes back to sleep, but that's not the "usual". The past two mornings, I've gone up to get him and when I get to his crib I see a sweet smiling face looking at me. He was doing well going to sleep on his own at night, but since we moved him to his crib we have to get him to sleep before we put him in bed. I'd like for him to fall asleep on his own, but I'm afraid if we leave him crying too long he'll wake up his brother. I guess we'll deal with that when we have to! For now, we'll enjoy getting the extra time with him.

I love this little boy and his sweet personality. Happy 3 month birthday Aaron Robert!

Aaron's Room

Well, Aaron is 3 months old and we've finally finished his room! Since he started sleeping upstairs last weekend, I figured it was about time for us to organize, arrange furniture and decorate the walls : )

Please excuse the duplo blocks on the floor, Caleb was helping me figure out where to hang things!

View from the door. I love the colors in the set, it took us a while to choose a bedding set that wasn't all pastels or too "babyish"

Noah's Ark
I decided this was after the animals got off the ark : )

Thanks to Grandma Deb for the cute animal plaques around his room!
Sweet Ark plaque by the door.
I've decided to attempt making canvases with the boys' names on them to hang above their beds. I'm going to attempt those this weekend. If they go well, I'll share them later : )
