Another weekend has come and gone. Why is it that the weekdays pass by slowly and the weekend flies by? I love the moments that the three of us spend together. We purposefully did nothing on Saturday this weekend. We've been so busy the past few weeks and we knew that we just needed some time together to relax and enjoy being with Caleb. We did no laundry, no chores, no cleaning... just spent time together. It was wonderful!
Sunday, however, was a little different. We spent the afternoon with our small group, some of my favorite people and one of my favorite times of the week. After our bible study was over, we quickly went to one of the couple's new house. They signed and started moving on Friday! We got to take a tour of the house and then prayed over all of the things God has planned for the next step of their life together in their new home. Being there reminded me of mine and Jonathan's move not that long ago! We've now been in our home for 1/2 a year. We're so comfortable here though, I feel like we've been here forever. After our prayer time, we went to visit GG, Papa and Derrill in Kemah. I made a batch of fudge yesterday and I love sharing our sweets with them. We stopped in for a short visit and ended up staying for dinner! Yummy leftover chili and vegetable stew! It was nice to catch up for a little while and then we headed home for the night. Caleb had a bath and went to bed a little while ago, Jonathan is in front of the fireplace and I'm in the comfy chair on the computer! What a nice way to end a busy day!
Sunday morning.. all of my boys together!
Jonathan called me into the living room so I could see Caleb "walking"! I think it'll still be a while til we have the real thing!

More Rolling!
So, for the past few weeks, Caleb has been trying so hard to roll from his back to his tummy but keeps getting stuck on his side! It's actually very cute, but he's been getting frustrated. Going from his tummy to his back was much easier and he's been doing that for about a month now. Well today, Caleb was playing on his mat and rolled over on his side. I expected the usual fussing as he usually does when he wants to finish the roll. After a few grunts though, he made it all the way over! I was surprised and he seemed shocked! I put him on his back again and he rolled all the way over again! I'm so proud of him! He got better and better at rolling through the day. It was a real struggle to make it the first few times, but by the end of the day it seemed almost easy. The only problem is that he doesn't seem to understand that once on his tummy he can then roll onto his back again, so he gets fussy on his tummy and I have to put him on his back again! I'm hoping he figures this out soon!
Other than that, there isn't a whole lot going on around here. Yesterday (Tuesday) we went by GG and Papa's house to say happy belated birthday and visit for a while after running a few errands. Jonathan has had some sinus problems and a sore throat for the last few days. This is the second time he has been sick this month, I think that's more than he got sick the whole time he was in college! I'm hoping this isn't the beginning of a new trend for him. Hopefully Jonathan continues to feel better and gets over this quickly. I hate when he's not feeling well.
I hope everyone is having a great week out there!

80th Birthday and Girl Time
It's Sunday evening and we're putting another busy weekend behind us! I'm hoping and praying that next Saturday we can just stay home and relax, I don't remember our last lazy day!
On Friday, Caleb and I tried out a play group! Most of the kids are somewhat older than Caleb, but I enjoyed talking to other mommies! It's a group of Christian women and I appreciate and need that fellowship time. I'm hoping to get more chances to get to know each of them (and their cute kiddos) better. Friday afternoon was one of those days when I had lots to do, but a little boy that wasn't interested in napping or playing on his own! We had a friend and her son over that evening and had a great time with them! I loved watching Jonathan play with a toddler, he's so natural with kids!
On Saturday morning my sister and I took my mom out for girl time. We had brunch at Cracker Barrel (yum!) and then went to see a movie. I love spending time with them both, we have great conversations about nothing and everything! (I'm going to use this moment to remind my sister that this is the reason she is not allowed to move to a certain town that will remain nameless...she belongs within 30 minutes of my house!) I came home for a little while in the afternoon before we headed over to Kemah for Papa's 80th birthday party! I think I'm still in shock that my Papa is 80 years old, but we did have a good time! We had GG and Papa pose for a picture with their two great-grandsons. After many pictures, we came out with a few great ones!
It was nice to spend time with family and see our nephew, Eli again. It's hard to believe that Caleb will be doing the same things in just a year!
Today was spent relaxing this morning and then going to our small group bible study this afternoon. We had intended to make it to church, but just couldn't pull ourselves together before it was time to leave. It seems like Caleb must know that bible study is time to be good. He's almost always in a good mood. He plays for a little while and when he starts to get tired, all I have to do is stand up and walk with him (more like stand in one place and bounce) and he falls asleep quickly! I wish he was that easy all the time, but I am thankful not to miss our conversation during bible study.
Now we're home relaxing and preparing for the coming week (and watching football). Like I said before, it was a fantastic weekend, but I'm VERY ready for a day of relaxation for the three of us!
Papa - Happy Birthday tomorrow, you seriously don't look anywhere near 80! We love you very much!

Smiles & a Sneaky Cat!
Time flies!
It doesn't seem that we've really done that much in the past week here in the Lutz household, but I'm not sure where the week went! A somewhat wise old man (my father) keeps telling me the days are long, but the weeks are short and I'm really seeing that realization lately! Caleb and I spend our days playing and doing laundry or running errands. Last weekend we started putting Caleb in his crib for naps and letting him fall asleep on his own. It was a process, but he's now doing very well with it! He seems to be sleeping better during naps and doesn't take as many during the day now. I'm looking forward to his 4 month appointment in a few weeks so I can get the numbers on how he's growing. I know he's really started filling out lately!
This weekend was another busy one. Grandma (my mom) had a birthday on Sunday, so we invited everyone over on Saturday to enjoy time together and celebrate a little. Sunday we made to church (yay!) and then had our bible study in the afternoon. After that Grandma Mal came over to babysit while Jonathan and I went on a date. It was nice to get out for a little while with my hubby! Jonathan then had Monday off so we finally had a day to relax! We did get a chance to go over to Grandma Mal's house in the afternoon and visit with Aunt Laura, Aunt Sarah and Lana! I love watching Caleb watch Lana, I think he's really trying to figure out who she is!
Not much else going on in our world at the moment! Here are some pictures from the weekend!
Caleb with Uncle Derrill (and Uncle Derrill's hat!)
Caleb still seems to want Lana's bow!
Aunt Laura is holding a toy and both babies are looking at it!

More laughter
While I was making dinner tonight Jonathan got Caleb into a giggling mood. I had to step out of the kitchen and get all the laughing on camera...too cute!

Caleb - Rolling Over
Caleb first rolled over almost two weeks ago, did it a few times, and then decided he wasn't really interested in doing it again. Today he finally decided to give it a try once more! He rolled over twice before we thought to get out the camera and we caught the third roll over on video!

A Cold and Cold Weather
We've had a fairly quiet week here in the Lutz house. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday trying to recover from my cold and Thursday and Friday were spent inside by the fire place! I was feeling fine by Thursday afternoon, but I didn't want to get Caleb out in the cold, windy weather. While I was sick, Jonathan stayed home and took care of Caleb. It was such a relief to sleep and relax most of the day. Jonathan brought him to me when he needed to eat, but other then that I was given time to get better. Yesterday evening we livened things up and spent some time with friends. Jonathan went "out" with the boys - meaning they got together at someone else's house to play poker and eat pizza, and the girls came to our house to eat, talk and relax! It was nice getting together with friends and enjoying some girl/guy time.
Caleb seems to get a little bigger every day. Today we started putting him in his crib before he falls asleep. It hasn't been horrible, but I do hope it gets better over the next few days. I keep saying he looks so big, but seeing him in his crib he looks so tiny! I'm used to him being in his bouncy seat or in the pack 'n play which is significantly smaller than the crib. Other than that, he went from his back to his side this week and is pushing up more strongly with his arms during tummy time.
Tummy Time!
Our big 3 month old.

Giggles
Well, I reported last week that Jonathan had a cold... guess who has it now! Yep, me. I know we're meant to share everything as husband and wife, but I hoped he would be selfish and keep his cold to himself. No such luck! So that means after one full day back at work after two week of working from home over the holidays, Jonathan is back at home with me. I guess it would be more accurate to say he's home with Caleb.
I don't have much else to share, but I thought you might like to see Caleb in one of his giggly moods! Enjoy : )

An eventful weekend
Wow, it's been quite a weekend!
First, I must say "Congrats" to Aaron and Brandy. They were married yesterday in a beautiful ceremony here in town. Aaron and Jonathan went through elementary, junior high, and high school together and eventually both ended up at Texas A&M. Aaron was in our wedding and Jonathan was one of his groomsmen yesterday. It was a wonderful ceremony and we had a great time at the reception. We had a mini high school reunion and it was nice to catch up with people we hadn't seen since high school and we got the opportunity to show off Caleb. He, by the way, was so good! He cried every time we were in the car, but that was it. At the wedding I sat with him for a while and then stood in the back as he started to get tired. He never fussed as he fell asleep and then I sat back down again. I was amazed that I didn't miss a single second of the ceremony! He did well at the reception as well. He sat with us and looked around taking in all the new faces and when he got tired, I walked around with him for just a few minutes until he fell asleep. Overall it was a fantastic day and we're so excited for Aaron and Brandy to begin their adventure together!
Second, Caleb is 3 months old today! I can't believe he is already 3 months old, where has the time gone? This past month went much faster than the first two. This month he started smiling and babbling more often, he cooed and giggled for the first time, he had his first Christmas, his first New Years Day... and his personality keeps getting stronger along with everything else. He has even started holding onto objects when we put them in his hand, or when his hand accidently hits it (for example, my glasses!). We weighed him this morning and he is now 11 lbs 13 oz. and I think he looks more like his Daddy each day.
We hope to relax and enjoy the rest of Sunday. Tomorrow Jonathan heads back to work after a long work-at-home vacation and Caleb and I will settle back into our routine. Below are some pictures from the wedding, my boys look very handsome!
Happy family at the reception.

Can you tell Caleb had a long day?
