LEGO KidFest '13

A few weeks ago, Jonathan found out that the Lego KidFest was coming to Houston. The event is pretty much heaven for any kid (or adult) that loves Legos. If you haven't noticed, we adore Legos, so naturally we had to get tickets! I'm glad we got them early, by Friday morning all of the time slots were sold out. We had tickets for Friday from 4-8, so Jonathan took off work a little early and we headed up to Houston for the afternoon.

The first exhibit we came to was the Duplo pile. We stopped and let the kids have some fun building for a while. They probably would have stayed there the whole time, but we persuaded them after a while to go see what else was there too.

Next, we came to the Lego Museum. These items were all made completely of Legos. Unfortunately, the lighting was rough there and my camera was having trouble focusing. Our favorites were, of course, Lightening McQueen and Woody & Buzz and our new favorite, Ninja Turtles. There were lots of really neat builds though!

Next we explored some of the other exhibits.

...the "same size/same shape" area (This was for a juice company...can't even remember the name of the company though!)

...building additions to the city.

...getting to drive the remote control Lego cars!

...the main, huge Lego mountain!

After that we took a little dinner break and ate some Chick-fil-A at Reliant Center, but the boys definitely weren't done playing! The eating area was near the Duplo area, so we decided to head back there for a little more play time.

...and then one last look at Lightening McQueen!

I'm so glad we got the chance to go out to the Lego event and have some family fun. I hope KidFest will come back to Houston and we'll get to enjoy even more of the exhibits as the boys are able to do (and understand) more of the builds. Thanks Jonathan for finding us something so fun to do as a family!
