Summer '13 Roadtrip (pt 1)

During the summer we took off on a two week roadtripping adventure to visit family in Illinois and Iowa. I'm trying to document all the fun we had, but now that I sit down to catch up on the blog, I realize we did A LOT over 13 days! I knew we were tired by the time we got home and now I can see why! So here goes the tale of our grand adventure!

~~~~~
We began our trip early on a Tuesday morning and started driving north toward Chicago. We took two days to get there, as we didn't want the boys to be in the car too long each day and we wanted to enjoy our stops without rushing to get there in one day.
Lunch on day 1 at Dairy Queen
Yummy sundae
Silly boy with all his blankets!
We followed this truck for a while...I wanted an IV hooked up straight from it to our car! Haha
Drove past the St. Louis arch (hoped to stop there on our way back, but didn't happen!)
Two really tired boys the first night at Grandmuzz and Grandpa's house
After our two day drive north we spent three days in Rolling Meadows with Grandmuzz and Grandpa. We fit in a lot of fun in those three days. On our first full day, the four of us went to Navy Pier. We walked all the way down the pier and then went to the Children's Museum (on the pier). The pier was fun to walk down and had lots of shops, restaurants and fun things to see. The Children's Museum was BY FAR the best Children's museum we have been to. We could have spent the whole day there instead of just the afternoon. That evening we went to the Rainforest Cafe with Grandmuzz and Grandpa for dinner. I guess we had worn out Aaron because he fell asleep on my shoulder before our food arrived! Poor guy was worn out!
