On Monday, we (Jonathan, Caleb and I) joined Thomas and Eli at the Houston Zoo. Kristen had invited us the week before knowing that the guys would have off for President's day. Unfortunately, she got sick soon after inviting us and still isn't feeling well, but we were happy to have Thomas and Eli with us for the day anyways.
The zoo was fairly busy with it being a holiday, but most schools in the area had to use the day as a make-up day for the "snow/ice days" we had a few weeks ago, so it wasn't overly crowded.
This was our first zoo trip this year and it was so fun to watch Caleb run around and point at things. He has really grown up since our last zoo day this past summer. This was also Jonathan's first chance to go with us, so it was neat to watch him as well!
Here are a few pictures from our outing. Our zoo just opened a new African Forest exhibit. It was really neat because they designed the animal areas so that you can easily see each animal. The giraffe area is the only part not finished, I'm looking forward to when we can see them up close!
Watching the elephants

In an African tribal hut
The sign turned...it was more interesting than the animals!
Watching some big fish
Looking at the otters
This was Caleb's favorite area - the otters were swimming back and forth in front of the glass, so Caleb ran back and forth with them....it was SO cute!
You can see the otter swimming through the glass and a reflection of a very happy Caleb.
Big boy eating his lunch.
Here are 2 videos from the morning.
Caleb was really happy to have the chance to get out of his stroller and walk/run. It was much easier to do that with Jonathan there!
We didn't get any great videos at the otter exhibit, but toward the end of this video you can see how excited he was when they were swimming.
