Random Summer Fun

As summer rolled slowly to an end we spent more time at home playing and having friends over. It was nice to calm down after our big road-trip and lots of family events as soon as we got home. 

Here's a few pictures of the boys playing. I realize they are mostly of Aaron. I only think to grab the camera when I see them doing something that makes them seem older to me. Aaron has grown so much over the summer in obvious ways. Caleb has grown, but more so in language which is hard to get a snapshot of! Caleb's big milestone of the summer is his sudden interest in imaginary friends. He cracks me up when he reminds that I need to use my imagination : )

Family Fun!

This weekend we got together with family to celebrate the August birthdays! (Kristen and me!) My dad had the idea of getting together at Clear Lake Park. It was a FANTASTIC day! We started out letting the kids play. Derrill brought the frisbee, boomerang and football so we had tons of fun running and playing. After Eli and Hannah Joy (and their chauffers, aka - Thomas and Kristen) arrived, we headed over to the splash pad. We eventually pulled the kids away for some lunch but they didn't go without a fight! (my kids anyways, the cousins were easier to convince!) We had a relaxed picnic lunch and then Pops pulled up the boat for us to enjoy the afternoon on the lake. 

Pops had purchased a four-person tube to pull behind the boat and we all took turns! This was a first for Jonathan, Caleb and I! (Aaron is still a little small to join, not that he didn't ask!)  We had a blast! I know...lots of exclamation marks in this paragraph...but it all really was lots of fun : ) It was a great way to celebrate birthday and wrap up summer!
