Mother's Day '13

On Sunday we celebrated Mother's Day and GG's birthday. All of the local family came over to our house for an early dinner and family time. We enjoyed having time to relax with everyone!

Caleb showing off his new popsicle holder...this thing is awesome! I found it at Hobby Lobby, it holds ice cream cones on one end and popsicle sticks on the other!
Wahoo!
Caleb has now won his first two games!

Katy's Vacation

Aunt Katy had a stay-cation planned at the end of April/beginning of May (meaning a vacation from work, but she stayed home instead of traveling), so we pretended to be on vacation too and joined her for a few fun outings during the week. On Monday, we went to Moody Gardens in Galveston to explore the pyramids.

We visited the aquarium pyramid first (by far the boys' favorite), but none of my pictures from there turned out very good. I guess my camera didn't adjust well to the dark. Katy hadn't been there since she was a kid, so she had a lot of fun too. I think she was more giddy than my boys when we got to the penguins. One was splashing around in front of Aaron for the longest time and he was mesmerized. We also enjoyed the seals!

After the aquarium we took a snack break outside by the garden area.

Katy sat and ate her snack well, the boys thought it would be fun to run around!

After our snack break, we headed to the rainforest pyramid.

Watching some super creepy bats
The monkeys were feeling friendly so we took some quick pictures.
Can I have one???
Watching the "pretty birds"
We also joined Katy at the zoo on Friday afternoon that same week. Kristen brought Hannah Joy and Eli as well and we had a fun morning together.

Someone attached to Katy right away
We've been to the zoo a bunch of times and I've never seen the bears awake and this one was actually up and moving, pretty cool!
Note, this was MAY and we were wearing sweaters...CRAZY!
I think the cats were enjoying the cooler temps, they were all up and playing too
Snack Break!
Aunt Katy took the two big kids on the merry-go-round. (Eli is being hidden by the giraffe)
Cuddly little girl
The boys being silly together, Aaron is pretty sure he's as big as they are : )
We headed back home right after lunch and then Katy and I took off for a Sister's Weekend in Galveston!

While Mommy's Away...

... the boys will absolutely play!

While Katy and I were enjoying a weekend in Galveston, the boys were here having tons of fun together. On Saturday afternoon, Jonathan decided to take the boys to the park. Little did he know, the Village Fair was going on at the park that day! He ended up taking the kids to the children's fair before they played at the park, what a great Daddy!

Bounce house
Watching Brother
Checking out the fire truck at the fire house by the park (they had it opened up for kids to come visit during the fair)
Playing ball
Watching turtles
Fun at the park after the fair
Hanging out up high!
I always know that it's safe to leave the boys with Jonathan. I'm so glad he doesn't just "make it" with them, but he takes them out and enjoys his time alone with them. The boys are so lucky to have him as their Daddy!

PWS Spring Picnic '13

At the end of April we had our Spring Picnic at PeeWee School. (I want to point out that it was in fact April and we were wearing sweaters...the weather here has been absolutely crazy, almost like we actually had a spring...so weird!)

Anyways, we had been studying community helpers at school, so we had some of the helpers in our community come out to our picnic. The H-E-Buddy (from HEB, a local grocery store) came out to hand out some goodies, a school bus, a small fire truck, an ambulance and a large rescue truck from the League City fire department came out to support us. The kids had a blast checking out all the different vehicles and getting to try out different things.

I hope this is the only time he's ever in one of these!

Trying on a mask from the fire department, he said it was stinky : )

Aaron didn't want the mask on, but he did want to examine it

Robotics

The robotics team Jonathan's work group supports, the Robonauts, had an amazing year in competition this season! They won first place in three regional competitions before heading to the final competition a few weeks ago. We had the great opportunity to go watch the team working with the practice robot on their mock field before they headed out to the finals.

Caleb LOVED watching the robot move around and shoot frisbees. He even got the chance to load some of the frisbees into the robot. He was crazy excited to see everything going on. We're so lucky that Jonathan is connected with this group!
